"Happiness is when you make unexpected new friends"

What a beautiful day at the UN from the inside
Free food at the UN hehe
Today... Today was a really good day. I really enjoyed it. Not only did I have a computer, which meant that I could start doing research and doing some actual work for the group, but I made a lot of friends today! Today was pretty good. When I went into the office, I did some work on the project I was tasked to do and looked up some information. Was given little mini assignments. I also got to meet another person as part of our team and she's this really sweet lady so it was nice.

It was all in all kind of uneventful at work. I got to go to Executive Office of the Secretary-General though! I got to see that, pick up some supplies for the office and it was just was super cool. I also found out about the super cool
This is the work I do :D

little cafe, called "Vienna cafe" which is in the basement of the GA building (I had no idea). I got some free food there (they were doing a conference and the UN interns told me to check it out).

I left work a bit later than I think I should have but I think it was okay. I had a reception at 6pm anyway so I was glad to be a little bit late. But because I was a little bit early for the reception, I decided to check out the St. Jerome Translation Contest. Unfortunately I missed most of it, but I got to hear people speak in Russian, English, French and Spanish and learn a bit about the translation team and what they do there. It was pretty goddamned cool sitting in that room and seeing translations teams frantically
The translating ceremony!
translate whatever language was being spoken at that time (Russian, Spanish, English and French) into their native language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, English and French). How cool is that?! They were giving out awards for the best translator and a lot of students actually won! Woo!

A little bit before they ended, I slipped out and headed up to the reception room in the Ex-Press Bar right beside the General Assembly Hall and tried to meet some fellow interns (I had invited them all to this event on our Whatsapp group). I was a bit nervous to be honest, since I pretty much had not met any
Look at all those free drinks..
interns yet (The whatsapp group was great for messaging and meeting new people though). But everyone was super nice and friendly! I made a lot of friends today!! Friends from USA, Kyrgistan, England, Belgium... China! I can't wait to meet more!!

The Jazz band that came to play!
And I got to enjoy some open bar wine, food, and great company. I honestly... it was amazing. I loved it! I was so happy.
