"Once you get to that point when you can just be yourself and relax, I just think that you're so much happier in general." Jacqueline Emerson

First time I've ever seen
anyone pain a light
Friday is the chill day for me (sometimes). I started off by going into work and doing some stuff for my project and kind of just walking around.

My floor is a conference floor, and because of that, there is usually food around (Don't worry guys, I don't take it unless it's offered to me). The air smelled good and I was definitely sadder than I should have been. I ended up putting stuff together for the meetings and the conferences that the USG had to use for the day. After she left, I kind of tried to find my own work to do.
At lunch, I ate some leftover pizza and just kind of hung out for a bit whilst getting all my information together.

It was a bit of a casual day at work, which was nice and relaxing, but it also
made it kind of boring to try to do anything.

Lots of people grabbing
ice cream!
At lunch (good thing I ate my pizza early) I headed over to a UN Women event called "Brownbag" where I listened to a woman speak about the issue of violence and child marriage against young girls (Wrote a paper on this recently) and I gotta say, it was pretty interesting to attend - even though I was a little late.

As I left the event, the first floor of the building (the News Building) was having an event that was sponsored by a real estate company so when I went
over, they offered me lots of ice cream and lemonade, which was great to really cool me down in this weather... Then headed back to work and shared some of my ice cream with a co-worker. It was the first time I was able to educate her on Magnum bars.

After work, I decided for the first time that I did not want to go to the Delegate's
Lounge, I wanted a nice chill night. So I invited my friend over from the Canadian Mission to have a night of movies, dinner and chill - especially from the hectic night we had before.

They gave me so much...
Made it myself!
I left to walk around the city for a bit and take a look at all the stuff around, passing by Bryant park and bam! I was given free ice cream. Lots of it. They gave me a bunch of haagen-dazs samples, vanilla, chocolate and ... pina colada? I mean, hey, as an intern no complaints.

I headed back home and cooked up a storm! Made some orange chicken with pasta and had some chips + dip and then watched some good cheesy movies, like the Prince and Me and Legally Blonde.

And then a PUPPY SHOWED UP and hung out with my friend and I for a bit.

All in all, a good chill night.

“Always say “yes” to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? what could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say “yes” to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.” W

Wow. Beautiful style.
Today started a bit late for me as I took Chris to the one thing he didn't get a chance to see, which was the inside of the New York library, I was blown away by it as well, it was beautiful. We headed over and grabbed some street food, a hot dog - and it was the worst hot dog of my life. I think the guy boiled it instead of grilling it and I kind of got sick (what a way to start a week)

We grabbed some McDonalds afterwards and had a very lazy morning of just sitting in each other's company before I dropped him off to get on a plane. It was quite depressing actually (I won't sob about it here though). We'll just leave it at parting is not sweet sorrow. It is simply - sorrow.

Inside is old school too.
Got into work a bit later but I still got to help out and do some other work. I didn't have lunch, but I snacked on some of the snacks in my cabinet drawer. It was a very lax day with not too, too much to do.

When I headed out, I went home to change my shoes and then headed over to this great pub, 5th and Mad which was having this really cool Yelp Elite event!

My friend that I had met a little while ago, during the Central Park tour, invited me today (and even though it was last minute, of course I had to say yes) and I very happily agreed. During the event, I received quite a few drink tickets to get any drink I wanted at the bar and on top of that, they were sampling different foods from the restaurant! I got to try lobster rolls, sliders, jerk chicken, chicken tenders and calamari. It was all delicious. I even got a pair of yelp gloves, haha

The Menu!
The idea of the Yelp Elite and having the Yelp Elite events to help promote new places or even places that have just renovated or want to have more coverage is an excellent idea. When the food first came, I saw everyone taking out their phones and snapping photos (my people) of the food before grabbing it. It's a great way to feed people and get feedback from people who are very active on review websites like yelp. It's pretty cool and I like to think that everybody wins.

Afterwards, I headed back home and worked a bit on the computer (on my yelp reviews to be honest) and just chilled out for a bit before heading to bed (especially after a week that was so jam packed with so much to do, I didn't even take out my computer once) before heading to sleep (seriously my body is so tired from the past week)
